We started the day with…dim sum! Mom ordered this pan-fried dim-sum. Apparently, she’d had a similar one in Toronto where they DEEP FRIED the whole zhong and was super delicious. It was pan fried here, it was nice, but I prefer the traditional steam. And Kevin got to eat his rare zhan pao!!!
Today we toured Windows of the World and Splendid China. Windows of the World was so not worth it. It was pretty expensive at RMB 160 per person. A whole park of miniature global landmarks. Splendid China also wouldn’t have been anything special if it weren’t for the live show at night, and again here too it was RMB150. I think going to BOTH for a price of RMB 150 would have been more reasonable since there are no rides, just a nice walk.
But the best thing about today despite disappointing tourist “attractions” was just hanging out with family, esp Lian and Kevin . Figuring out the map together, getting to learn what they like, what they know, fooling around and hanging out and just taking a nice long walk all day together on a sunny winter’s day.
