Italy: Gigondas

I just love roadtrips.  Roadtripping in Europe has been SO fun.  Despite the hiccups.  Last year, we were robbed by trickery outside of Milan.  This year, we were actually violently mugged, attacked and robbed right outside Intercontinental Hotel in Marseilles.  Lesson: we don’t like big cities.

On the first day of our road trip, we mad an afternoon stop at Gigondas – a teeny tiny little town recommended by our neighbours Charles!  It was totally quiet, the town was asleep literally.  And it was just so so beautiful and authentic.  You are literally transported to another time and place.  I just love these teeny tiny little towns in Europe.  Time has stopped.  You come here to enjoy the quiet, the beauty, the wine and food, and most of all, to enjoy each other.  I feel so privileged and fortunate to have been able to visit so many such small towns.  I never ever imagined i would have the chance to do this, and I am forever grateful to life and God, and my family for making these little joys in life possible.
