The second day, we got up early, had a full buffet breakfast at the hotel, and then set out at about 7.30. It was about a 2hour drive to Huang Long. I fell asleep, and when I woke up, I was greeted with this stunning view. We were the ONLY car on the highway!!! The highway was BEAUTIFULLY made – very smooth and railings throughout the ENTIRE highway. In some areas, they even tried to make the railings like mini Great-Wall! It was very impressive. It reminded me of the Gross Lockner highway we took from Austria to cross to Italy – we had to pay for a toll for that AND it had no railings! The sky was a clear blue and it did not feel like “China” at all, (from my ignorant view of China). The country is soo vast, so beautiful!
Our drive couldn’t speak any Chinese. But when we asked him to help us to take a picture, he said : Ba Ge POSE! (give a pose!) Hilarious!
Alas, all the little ponds were FROZEN.
But it was s till a lovely hike up the mountain. They had built a wooden stairway path, so safe.
There were even video cameras EVERYwhere and guards were actually blasting through the speaker if someone was being naughty!
Is this what Scandinavia looks like?
And those mini clouds coming from a chimney!?
Thanks SO much to our dear new friends for capturing these precious pics for us!
And then we had a mini-portrait session for these cute love-birds.
Perhaps someday we’ll meet again. Super duper laid back and chill people. So young, yet so mature! We got SO lucky!
I actually felt sad when we had to part in ChengDU!
Aren’t they too cute!?
